Lorraine Skogsberg, 93, formerly of 26 Jason St., Pittsfield, died Thursday at Kimball Farms, where she had resided for 13 years.
Born in Leominster on May 3, 1910, daughter of Charles and Harriet McKenney Harris, she graduated from Fitchburg State Teachers College.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1935.
Mrs. Skogsberg taught at the former Bartlett School in Pittsfield from 1952 until retiring in 1975.
She also had taught school in Brimfield.
She was a member of First Church of Christ Congregational in Pittsfield for more than 65 years, and had been president of its Caroline Adams Society.
She also had been president of the Pittsfield Girl Scout Council, vice president of the Pomeroy School PTA and a literacy volunteer.
Her husband, Frank A. Skogsberg, longtime Berkshire County agricultural agent, whom she married July 27, 1935, in Leominster, died July 14, 1983.
She leaves two daughters, Gay Spear of Englewood, Fla., and Polly Kisiel of Sherborn; a son, Allen H. Skogsberg of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; two sisters, Marion Harris of New Braintree and Marjorie Stillman of Lunenburg, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Mrs. Lorraine Skogsberg, who died Feb. 19, 2004, will be conducted Friday, Feb. 27, at 11 at First Church of Christ Congregational in Pittsfield by the Rev. Richard L. Floyd, pastor.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to First Church of Christ Congregational, 27 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., is in charge of arrangements.
