Mardelle Elaine Tatro, 89, of 200 Hollow Tree Lane, Houston, a native and former resident of Pittsfield, died Thursday, Feb. 12, at Mariner Health Center in Houston.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 28, 1914, daughter of Fritz and Bernice Danford Sohles, she attended Pittsfield schools.
She had lived in Houston for 25 years.
Mrs. Tatro was primarily a homemaker, but worked briefly at Crane & Co. in Dalton following World War II.
She enjoyed cooking and playing bingo.
Her husband, George R. Tatro, whom she married on Sept. 19, 1930, died on June 11, 1977.
She leaves a son, George R. "Dick" Tatro Jr. of Adams; two daughters, Marilyn St. Peter and Priscilla Hunt, both of Houston, 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Another daughter, Lucille Gunter, died Nov. 17, 1991.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 19, at 1 in Main Street Cemetery, Dalton, by the Rev. Donald E. Gray, pastor of First Baptist Church of Adams.
Burial will follow. There are no calling hours. AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
