Laverne L. Marier DeFazio

Laverne L. Marier DeFazio, 92, formerly of 65 Cherry St., died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
She had resided at Hillcrest Commons since May 2002 and before that resided at the former Center for Optimum Care for several years.
Born in Independence, Mo., on May 3, 1911, daughter of John H. and Anna A. Scott Dolan, she attended schools there and graduated from a technical high school.
Mrs. DeFazio was employed as a secretary in sales with the Department of Agriculture for 10 years. She was later employed by Goodwill Industries for 12 years, where she wassales manager for six years. She retired several years ago.
She enjoyed collecting antiques.
Her first husband, Francis J. "Buck" Marier Sr., died in May 2000, and her second husband, Thomas E. DeFazio, died Feb. 21, 1959.
She leaves a stepson, William J. DeFazio of Pittsfield; two stepdaughters, Maryann McClure of Connersville, Ind., and Frances McFarland of Meriden, Conn., and a grandson. Her son, Francis J. "Buck" Marier Jr., died Jan. 5, 2003. She was predeceased by a stepson, Vincent DeFazio, and a stepdaughter, Gilda Palano.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Laverne L. (Dolan) Marier DeFazio died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004. A graveside service following cremation will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield, at the convenience of the family.
Survivors include a grandson, Frank Marier III of Lompoc, Calif.; a stepson, William J. DeFazio of Pittsfield; two stepdaughters, Maryann McClure of Connersville, Ind., and Frances McFarland of Meriden, Conn.
She was predeceased by a stepson, Vincent DeFazio, and a stepdaughter, Gilda Palano. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., is in charge of arrangements.
