Henry Walter Marcisz, 54, of 19 Grant St., Easthampton, formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton after an eight-month battle with cancer.
Born in Northampton on Sept. 6, 1949, son of Walter Marcisz of Easthampton and the late Emilia Saczek Marcisz, he attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Easthampton and was a graduate of St. Michael's High School in Northampton.
He lived in Pittsfield for many years before returning to Easthampton in 1994.
He enlisted in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Lewis was employed at Diamond RV in Hatfield as a me-chanical technician, retiring last June because of his health. He also had worked at Green River Honda in Greenfield for many years and at Quirk's Marine Service.
He was a former member of the Easthampton Rod and Gun Club and an avid tenpin bowler.
He also enjoyed hunting and boating.
Besides his father, he leaves his wife of five years, the former Jean Marie Sears; a son, Christopher Marcisz of Williamstown; a daughter, Amanda Marcisz of Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Heather Wojtkielewicz of Easthampton, and a sister, Irene Manning of Easthampton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Henry W. Marcisz, who died Feb. 7, 2004, will be conducted Friday at 10:30 at GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME, 18 Adams St., Easthampton.
Burial with military honors will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery, Easthampton. Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, 31 Capital Drive, West Springfield, MA 01089-1344.
