Adelina "Fern" Peixeiro, 72, of 90 Harvard St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Adams on Jan. 3, 1932, daughter of Henry and Rose Vogel Dansereau, she moved to Pittsfield as a child and was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Peixeiro was employed by GE as a computer technician, retiring in 1992 after 40 years of service.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and the Ralph Froio Senior Center.
She was an avid bingo player at St. Charles' Church and enjoyed traveling the country, making frequent visits to Atlantic City.
Her husband, Daniel F. Peixeiro, whom she married Feb. 27, 1954, died Jan. 22, 1963.
She leaves a daughter, Rosemary McKillop of Pittsfield, and a granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Adelina "Fern" Peixeiro, 72, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, will be Tuesday at 8:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in 9 at Notre Dame Church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Feb. 9, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Ralph Froio Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
She also leaves her cherished granddaughter, Heather L. McKillop; her beloved son-in-law, Dudley McKillop; loving cousins John Nolan of Pittsfield and Kathleen Marchetti of Clearwater, Fla.; her caring brother-in-law, Thomas O'Laughlin Sr. of Newport, N.C., and her caring nephews and nieces, Thomas O'Laughlin Jr. and Karen Ligi, both of Newport, N.C., and Cathy Sherwood of Salisbury, Conn., as well as many thoughtful and caring cousins and friends.
