Thomas David "Chick" Chiaretto, 89, of 7 Delaware Ave. and 820 Barnes Blvd., Rockledge, Fla., died Friday morning at Sunnyside Assisted Living Facility in Rockledge.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 26, 1914, son of Constantino and Maria F. Soricchio Chiaretto, he attended local schools, including Pittsfield High School.
He graduated from the former Berkshire Business School and completed the GE Finance Program. He had spent winters in Florida since 1988.
Mr. Chiaretto had been employed by GE as a financial analyst in its naval ordnance division for 27 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Pittsfield and a former member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club.
He enjoyed bowling and fishing, and was a master bridge player.
He and his wife, the former Nina C. Valenti, were married Oct. 12, 1940, in Mount Carmel Church.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Thomas D. "Chick" Chiaretto will take place at a later date. Entombment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Brevard Hospice in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Three brothers and two sisters are deceased, including Rocco, Anthony and Carl Chiaretto, Mary Budziak and Vera Fresia.
