Olive E. Vanier

Olive E. Vanier, 63, of Watervliet, N.Y., died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, N.Y.

She was the sister of Marjorie L. Larkin of Pittsfield.

Born in Watervliet on Nov. 27, 1940, daughter of John C. and Jane E. Claydon Drescher, she attended schools there.

Mrs. Vanier had been employed by the Riverside Association of Retarded Citizens facility in Troy, N.Y.

Besides her sister, she leaves her companion, William Murphy Sr.; two daughters, Olive E. Stiefel and Kandy L. Mannix, both of Amsterdam; a son, John C. Stiefel of Troy; another sister, Ruth Klein of Florida, and a brother, John C. Drescher of Troy; six grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Olive E. Vanier, who died Feb. 2, 2004, will be Friday at 11 from WM. LEAHY FUNERAL HOME, 336 Third St., Troy, N.Y. Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home today, Feb. 5, from 4 to 8. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery.
