Mariann M. Jacobs, 54, of 46 Franklin St. died Saturday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 6, 1949, daughter of John J. and W. Regina Foley Mawhinney, she was raised in Dalton and graduated in 1967 from Wahconah Regional High School.
She also graduated from Berkshire Community College with an associate's degree in art in 1969.
Mrs. Jacobs was a waitress at Friendly's Restaurant in the Allendale Shopping Center in Pittsfield for 25 years, until leaving in 1993.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church.
She enjoyed animals, music and going to Truro and Provincetown on Cape Cod.
She leaves two daughters, Karyn C. Jacobs of Boston and Jennifer E. Jacobs of Dalton, and a sister, Joann R. Walton of Windsor.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mariann Mawhinney Jacobs, who died Jan. 31, 2004, will be Wednesday at 9:15 from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Agnes' Church.
Burial will be in the spring in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Feb. 3, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. She leaves her longtime companion, Gordon Soldato of Pittsfield; her niece, Shannon Walton, and her two nephews, Todd and Corey Walton. She also leaves her dog, Zippy, and her nine cats.
In lieu of flowers, and because of her great affection for animals, donations in her memory may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home, 890 Main St.
