Thomas F. Flynn, 88, of Bonita Springs, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Thursday at home.
Mr. Flynn founded Flynn Volkswagen in 1964.
Born in Boston on Aug. 2, 1915, son of Cornelius J. and Winifred J. Walsh Flynn, he attended schools there and graduated from Bentley College, where he was an active alumnus.
He retired to Centerville, then to Florida 24 years ago.
His wife of 66 years, the former Madeline N. Callahan, died Nov. 5, 2001.
He leaves two sons, Thomas F. Flynn Jr. of Lanesboro and David P. Flynn of Pittsfield; three daughters, Janice Hodgkins of Bonita Springs, Barbara Walters of Naples, Fla., and Susan Dykes of Cape Coral, Fla.; three brothers, Nicholas Flynn of Silver Springs, Md., John Flynn of Centerville and Bradenton, Fla., and Edward Flynn of University Place, Wash.; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Thomas F. Flynn, who died Jan. 29, 2004, was held Monday, Feb. 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, North Naples, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
