Bernard Alexis Tremblay Sr

Bernard Alexis Tremblay Sr., 74, of 959 North St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 23, 1929, son of Henry G. and Mary Roulier Tremblay, he was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving aboard the USS Fiske DDR-842 as an electronics technician second class from August 1953 to February 1955.
Mr. Tremblay was a graduate of the GE apprentice course and was employed by GE for 40 years, retiring as a manufacturing engineering specialist from the distribution and power transformer departments in 1987.
He was a volunteer at Tanglewood in Lenox and at the Catholic Youth Center in Pittsfield, where he was a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and past president of its parish council. He was also past secretary and treasurer of Notre Dame's bingo game.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, assembling model airplanes and U.S. history. He was a former member of the Berkshire Radio Control Flying Club.
He leaves his wife, the former Anne M. Tournier, whom he married July 2, 1955.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Julie A. Webb of LaCrosse, Va.; five sons, Marc E. Tremblay, Bernard A. Tremblay Jr. and John C. Tremblay, all of Pittsfield, Matthew A. Tremblay of Troy, N.Y., and Luke F. Tremblay of Gastonia, N.C.; a brother, George Tremblay of Pittsfield; a sister, Annette Thoubboron of Pittsfield, and 10 grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Bernard A. Tremblay Sr., who died Jan. 30, 2004, will be Tuesday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. Max Kishe, parochial vicar.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Pittsfield Catholic Schools in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Tremblay is lovingly survived by his 10 adored grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Jeremiah, Daniel, Jacob, Martine, Edouard, Miranda and Marlaina Tremblay, and Justin Webb.
