Mary P. Pearce, 81, of 129 Kittredge Road died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center shortly after being admitted.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 11, 1923, daughter of Frank and Julia Rodrigues Nascimento, she was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1941 graduate of the former Berkshire Business College.
Mrs. Pearce was employed by GE for 12 years as a secretary, and thereafter was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's and St. Francis' churches and a former member of Berkshire Hills Country Club and the General Electric Athletic Association.
She enjoyed playing golf and bridge.
She and her husband, Richard L. Pearce, were married Oct. 11, 1952, in St. Mary's Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Rick Pearce of Saratoga, Calif.; a daughter, Patricia A. Palmer of Honolulu; a brother, Frank Nascimento of Pittsfield; a sister, Alice LaChapelle of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary P. Pearce, who died Jan. 29, 2004, will be Monday, Feb. 2, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Mary's Church celebrated by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Mary's Church, both in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Pearce was the beloved grandmother of Ryan and Kevin Palmer and Taylor and Ricky Pearce. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
