Eunice J. Hoffman Johnston Robinson

Eunice J. Hoffman Johnston Robinson, 70, of 14 Daniels Ave. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.

Born in Cleveland on April 23, 1933, daughter of Clifford and Hazel Cedergren Hoffman, she attended schools there.

She moved to Pittsfield 39 years ago.

Mrs. Robinson had been employed as a teacher's aide at West Side Community School, now Conte School, as a bus monitor for the Berkshire Community Action Council and on weekends as a cook at the Stratford House, which is affiliated with Berkshire County ARC.

She enjoyed bingo, camping and Mystery Theater.

Her first husband, George Johnston, whom she married in 1951 and later divorced, died in 2002.

Her husband, Robert L. Robinson, whom she married April 17, 1982, died in 1994.

She leaves three daughters, Susan J. Chase, Elnora G. Oleson and Michelle Lynn Rose, all of Pittsfield; seven sons, Christopher W. Johnston of Davenport, Iowa, Andrew C. Johnston of Hamden, Conn., Timothy A. Johnston of Roanoke, Va., and Lloyd E. Johnston, George W. Johnston, Chester J. Johnston and John A. Johnston, all of Pittsfield; a brother, Ronald Hoffman of Euclid, Ohio; a sister, Mildred Wingard of Cleveland, 29 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Eunice J. Hoffman Johnston Robinson, who died Jan. 30, 2004, will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 at First Baptist Church, 88 South St., by the Rev. Robert M. Rennie, senior minister.

Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to BCAC in care of the funeral home.

Eunice is also lovingly survived by sons-in-law Stephen Chase, Jeff Oleson and Carl I. Rose, and by daughters-in-law, Sara, Stephanie, M. Edna, Debra, Julie and Melissa Johnston.
