Thomas Michael Ancheta

Thomas Michael Ancheta, 54, of 29 Kent Ave., died Thursday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided since Oct. 11, 2003.

Born in Boston on Sept. 17, 1949, son of Eustaquio and Mildred Farrell Ancheta, he attended schools there and graduated from the former Abraham Lincoln High School in the South End.

He had lived in Pittsfield for 30 years.

Mr. Ancheta had been disabled for most of his life.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and enjoyed karate.

He leaves a brother, David Ancheta of Cambridge; a sister, Christina Valentin of Chelsea, and his fiancée, Bernadette Muller of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Thomas M. "Mr. T" Ancheta, who died Jan. 29, 2004, will be Tuesday at 8:30 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at St. Joseph's Church by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 8 until it is time to leave for the church service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to St. Joseph's Church for Mass intentions. He is survived by his fiancée, Bernadette Muller, and his longtime friend, Jacqueline Cunagin.
