Henry Daniel "Danny" Phillips II

January 26, 2004

Henry Daniel "Danny" Phillips II, 52, of 1105 North St. died Monday morning at home, following a brief illness.

Born in Framingham on July 15, 1951, son of Elizabeth A. Hartland Phillips Galvin of Pittsfield and the late Richard W. Phillips, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.

He earned his certification in computer and electrome-chanical technology from Berkshire Community College.

An Army veteran, he served in Vietnam and in Germany as a specialist 4 vehicle repairman from 1968 to1971.

A carpenter, painter and drywall taper, Mr. Phillips had subcontracted for local and out-of-state contractors for many years. He also had owned the former Corn Crib Restaurant in Stephentown, N.Y.

He was a theatrical stage lighting and sound technician and worked for local production companies, such as the Robbins-Zust Marionettes, the former Berkshire Public Theater and, most recently, at Lime Light Productions in Lee, traveling all over the East coast. He retired because of ill health.

He enjoyed set designing, car restoration and horses, and was an auto racing fan.

Besides his mother, he leaves three brothers, Wayne Taylor of Dania, Fla., Richard W. Phillips of Taunton and Jerome Jay Galvin of Pittsfield and five sisters, Gail Stack, Sandra Kennedy and Kim Stracuzzi, all of Pittsfield, Cheryl Gable of Lanesboro and Laura Burgess of Lee.
