Constance D. Schoonmaker, 88, formerly of 31 Bradford St., died Thursday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for several years.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 31, 1915, daughter of Frank R. and Stella Liberty Camp, she attended the former Central High School in Pittsfield and was a 1933 graduate.
She had lived in Pittsfield for most of her life.
She attended music school and was accomplished at playing the piano, violin and Hawaiian guitar.
She was employed for two years at GE before she married.
Her husband, John Schoonmaker, died in 1982.
She leaves a daughter, Janice C. Hughes of Pittsfield; a sister, Betty Russell of Dalton; two grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Constance D. Schoonmaker, who died on Thursday, Jan. 22, will be Sunday at 2 at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, Jan. 25, from 1 to 2. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
Beloved grandmother to Delmont T. Keyes Jr. and Jean D. Hughes, both of Lanesboro; great-grandmother to Cedar K. Keyes, Lane W. Hughes and Saville N. Keyes; stepgrandmother to Sandra M. White.
