Paul P. Nykorchuk, 70, of 31 Springside Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on June 26, 1933, son of Anthony and Anastasia Kowchuk Nykorchuk, he was a 1953 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he later served in the Air Force.
Mr. Nykorchuk was employed as a right-of-way appraiser for the state of Massachusetts for 17 years, retiring in 2001.
Prior to that, he worked as a real estate agent.
He was a life member of the VFW and a member of the Polish American Club, the Polish Falcons Club and the Polish National Alliance.
He leaves three stepsons, Craig Stone of North Adams, Dale Stone and Dean Stone, both of Tiffton, Ga.; a brother, Peter Nykorchuk of Pittsfield; a sister, Helen Morin of Pittsfield, four stepgrandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Paul P. Nykorchuk, 70, who died in Pittsfield on Jan. 21, 2004, will be Friday, Jan. 23, at 11 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Thursday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
Beloved stepgrandfather to Scott Stone of Becket, J.D. Stone of North Adams, and Matt and Beth Stone of Tiffton; stepgreat-grandfather to Zachary and Amy. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
