William A. Fahey Jr.

William A. Fahey Jr., 88, of Wood Avenue died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 15, 1915, son of William A. and Mary V. Cooke Fahey, he was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield and a 1933 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Fahey graduated from the GE apprentice school in 1938. He served as a group leader in the plastics department and was later transferred to the distribution transformer department.
He then moved to the ordnance department when he became group leader in the job shop. He retired from the tool room in 1980 after 45 years of service.
Mr. Fahey also worked part time at Sheffield Plastics Inc. in Sheffield, Modern Mold and Tool Inc. and Landers Inc.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and a member of the former Stanley Club.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Mr. Fahey enjoyed trout fishing and tying his own flies.
He was a former Eagle Scout in Troop 14.
His wife, the former Nancy Gorman, died May 3, 2000. They were married July 29, 1950, in St. Mary's Church in Cheshire.
He leaves three daughters, Patricia Molinari of Glendale, Calif., Jeanne Wakefield of Hagerstown, Md., and Susan Roche of Natick, and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for William A. Fahey Jr., who died in Pittsfield on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, will be Monday, Jan. 19, at 9:45 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday morning, Jan. 19, from 9 to 9:45. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Fahey was the beloved grandfather of Matthew and Patrick Wakefield, Amy and Lori Sacchetti and Jessica and Will Roche.
