Patricia A. DeAlmeida VanZandt, 62, of 20603 Candlewood Hollow, Estero, Fla., formerly of Lenox, died Thursday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on May 19, 1941, daughter of Nelson and Cecelia Szetela Ellsworth, she attended Pittsfield High School.
She also had resided on Goose Pond in Tyringham and moved to Florida in 1998
Mrs. VanZandt was primarily a homemaker.
While in Lenox, she had been a communicant of St. Ann's Church.
Her first husband, Albert DeAlmeida, whom she married in September 1959, died Dec. 5, 1979.
Her husband, George D. VanZandt Sr., whom she married Oct. 28, 1989, died Dec. 28, 2000.
She leaves two daughters, Victoria L. Hickey of Southwick and Aline M. Almeida of Pittsfield; two sons, Albert A. Almeida of Estero, Fla., and Michael V. Almeida of Pittsfield; two stepsons, George D. VanZandt Jr. and Michael VanZandt, both of Lee; two sisters, Jeanne N. Clancy of Pittsfield and Kathleen M. Wendling of Richmond, and 10 grandchildren. Another son, Robert E. Roy Jr., died April 6, 1959.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Patricia A. DeAlmeida VanZandt, who died Jan. 15, 2004, will be Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 8:45 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Ann's Church by the Rev. Christopoher J. Waitekus, pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Ann's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Jan. 19, from 4 to 7.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
