John J. Klink Sr.

John J. Klink Sr., 76, of 229 Robbins Ave. died Saturday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had been a patient for a few days.
Born in Pittsfield on July 15, 1927, son of Zacharias and Ellen Donovan Klink, he attended local schools.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he served as an apprentice seaman.
Mr. Klink was employed by GE ordnance as an assembler in the Bradley tank division, retiring in October 1987.
He also worked for the plastics and chemical divisions. Before that, he was employed by the former Eaton Paper Co.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs.
He and his wife, the former Christine K. Hess Daniels, were married Sept. 23, 1978.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, John J. Klink Jr. of Pittsfield; three stepsons, John A. Daniels Jr., William J. Daniels and Bruce H. Daniels, all of Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Lisa Houghtling of Pittsfield; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for John J. Klink Sr., 76, who died Jan. 17, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow at 10:30 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mr. Klink is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Doreen Klink; his son-in-law, Charles Houghtling, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
