Dorothy M. Connors, 87, of 169 Valentine Road died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 25, 1916, daughter of William and Irene Johnson O'Boyle, she attended local schools and was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
She then attended the former Henry Bishop School of Nursing and also the former St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated as a registered nurse.
She was a private duty nurse and also worked for the Visiting Nurse Association, from which she retired in 1972. Before that, she was employed for 30 years as a registered nurse at the former Pittsfield General Hospital.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality.
She and her husband, Harold "Josh" Connors, were married Nov. 11, 1940. He died August 1972.
She leaves three sons, David M. Connors of Derwood, Md., Robert A. Connors of Pittsfield and Harold R. Connors Jr. of Marlboro; a daughter, Patricia A. Connors of Pittsfield; her sister, Kathleen Sinopoli of Pittsfield, and 10 grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Dorothy M. Connors, 87, who died Jan. 19, 2004, will be Thursday at 11 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated at St. Mark's Church by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Lee Visiting Nurse Association in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
