Hector E. Henault

Hector E. Henault, 85, of 379 East St. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.

He lived at Colonial Gardens before moving to East Street.

Born in Burriville, R.I., on Aug. 25, 1918, son of William and Loza Chauvan Henault, he was educated in schools there.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served with Company B, 867th Airborne engineer aviation battalion, and earned several medals.

Mr. Henault was employed by the Pittsfield Department of Public Works in the water department for 25 years, retiring in 1982.

He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pittsfield.

He was a Red Sox fan and enjoyed gardening and traveling.

He and his wife, the former Wava Coty, were married Sept. 28, 1946, in Notre Dame Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Raymond R. Henault and Jeffrey W. Henault, both of Pittsfield, Dennis W. Henault of Phoenix and Jack R. Henault of Cheshire; a sister, Blanche Doire of North Scituate, R.I., and five grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Hector E. Henault, 85, of Pittsfield, who died Jan. 10, 2004, will be tomorrow, Jan. 13, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor of St. Mark's Church.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Monday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Mr. Henault loved spending time with his family. He also leaves five grandchildren, Renée Cantwell, Michelle Henault, Michael Henault, Jack Henault and Brett Henault, as well as three daughters-in-law, Maureen Henault, Lee Henault and Katie Henault.

He was predeceased by a sister and nine brothers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Berkshire Medical Center Cancer Research Center in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
