Carol J. DeLuca

Carol J. DeLuca, 45, of 40 Stoddard Ave. died Saturday at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 18, 1958, daughter of Donald A. and Constance Simpson Bailey, she was a 1976 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mrs. DeLuca was a self-employed interior plant landscapist and planting designer.

She enjoyed collecting quirky antiques and vintage glassware, and having elaborate dinner parties for family and friends.

Besides her mother, of Pittsfield, she leaves two daughters, Kristen DeLuca of Pittsfield and Shauna DeLuca of Fort Collins, Colo.; five sisters, Donna Williams of East Greenbush, N.Y., Nancy Melle of Bremen, Ga., Judy Coker of Carrolton, Ga., Joyce Bailey of Scwenksville, Pa., and Connie Morris of Lee, and her former husband, Riccardo J. DeLuca of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services to celebrate the life of Carol J. Bailey DeLuca will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7, the time of the service. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society through the funeral home, or flowers may be sent.

Survivors include her former husband, Riccardo J. DeLuca. Her pastimes were gardening and throwing elaborate dinner parties for her family and close-knit group of friends, whom she looked upon as family.
