Edward John Slonski Sr., 57, of 15 Brooks Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 30, 1945, son of William Slonski Sr. and Jessie Pekosz Slonski, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Slonski had been employed as a chef at the former Rosa and Tyler restaurants for several years.
He stopped working in 1976 because of poor health.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He and his wife, the former Marie Williams, were married in 1972.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Edward J. Slonski Jr. of Pittsfield; three sisters, Theresa M. Petell, Mary Ann Harrington and Frances J. Smith, all of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Edward J. Slonski Sr., who died Dec. 29, 2003, will be private.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is handling arrangements.
He was predeceased by a brother, William Slonski Jr.
