Trude R. Geismar

Trude R. Geismar, 96, a resident of Kimball Farms Retirement Community at 235 Walker St. for eight years, died Thursday at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Born in Bretten, Germany, on Sept. 19, 1907, daughter of Moses and Rosa Levy Lichtenberger, she attended schools there and came to the United States with her husband, Ludwig Geismar, and daughter, Susan, in 1936.
Mrs. Geismar and her husband manufactured their own line of children's dresses, which she designed in Brooklyn from 1936 to 1967.
An artist who created fabric collages, she exhibited her work at many shows in Florida, Westchester County, N.Y., and at Kimball Farms, and won several awards over the years.
The Geismars lived in Brooklyn and later Yorktown Heights, N.Y., for many years.
Mr. Geismar, whom she married on Dec. 8, 1929, died in 1983.
She leaves her daughter, Susan Scheck of Hillsdale, N.Y., and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Trude R. Geismar will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 28, at 11 at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME by Rabbi Harold Salzmann, rabbi emeritus at Temple Anshe Amunim in Pittsfield.
Burial will be Monday at Westchester Hills Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. Mrs. Geismar is also survived by her two grandchildren, Dorothy Anderson and William Scheck.
