Genevieve Thistle Pflieger

Genevieve Thistle Pflieger, 95, died Sunday at Berkshire Place, where she had resided since 1999.
Born in New York City on Jan. 2, 1908, daughter of Arthur and Mary Coyle Cassidy, she attended schools there.
She resided in Scarsdale, N.Y., and later at Morgan Manor in Lee for 15 years.
Mrs. Pflieger had been employed by the former England Brothers department store for a number of years. She also had been employed by Moore McCormack Cruise Lines as gift shop manager for many years, traveling the world.
She enjoyed reading and taking walks.
Her first husband, Kenneth Boyd Thistle, whom she married May 19, 1928, died in 1942.
Her husband, John Pflieger, whom she married in 1961, died in 1968.
She leaves a daughter, Beverly Thistle Hallock of Richmond, two granddaughters and a great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Genevieve Thistle Pflieger, who died Dec. 14, 2003, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be in the Center Cemetery in Richmond at a later date. Mrs. Pflieger's large blue eyes and sense of style revealed her sparkling personality. Among survivors are her granddaughters, Gail Hallock Cyr and Kimberly Hallock Crocker, and her great-grandson, Benjamin Armory Crocker.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the activities fund at Berkshire Place in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St.
