Richard H. Lloyd, 66, of 24 Plymouth St. died Monday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 20, 1937, son of Harold and Beatrice Zwingelstein Lloyd, he was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Lloyd had been employed as a machinist at the former Marland Mold for 28 years, retiring in 1997. He had also worked at the former E.D. Jones.
He was a communicant of St. Mark's Church.
He was involved in youth athletics, including Pop Warner football and Little League, for many years.
He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Notre Dame football and Red Sox fan.
He and his wife, the former Julia A. Sarkis, were married June 18, 1960, in St. Francis' Church in North Adams.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Thomas A. Lloyd of Brattleboro, Vt., and David R. Lloyd of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Kelli A. Milne of Pittsfield; a sister, Carol A. Wendling of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert D. Lloyd of Shelby, N.C., and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Richard H. Lloyd, 66, died in Pittsfield on Monday, Dec. 15, 2003. Beloved grandfather to Emily Anne Lloyd, Nicholas Thomas Lloyd and Sean Patrick Lloyd, and Haley Elizabeth Milne and Jack Ryan Milne.
The funeral will be Friday, Dec. 19, at 10 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 in St. Mark's Church by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, Dec. 18, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Bobby Kidney Sunshine Club in care of the funeral home.
