Silas E. Eulian

Silas E. Eulian, 84, of 37 Plunkett St. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on July 2, 1919, son of Joseph and Susan Brockway Eulian, he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1937.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was stationed in the Pacific.
Mr. Eulian was employed as a program specialist by GE's ordnance division for 40 years, retiring in 1981. After his retirement, he worked at City Savings Bank.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and had been a member of the Berkshire Hills Country club for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs as well as a member of a barbershop quartet.
He and his wife, the former Gloria M. Gonzalez of Pittsfield, would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Jan. 31.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Bruce E. Eulian of Pittsfield and David J. Eulian of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Nancy Tarjick of Windsor; a brother, William Eulian of Hinsdale; four sisters, Josephine Melikan of Orleans, Lucy Williams of Santa Rosa, Calif., Blanche Cullen of Pittsfield and Agnes Cadorette of Elan, N.C., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Silas E. Eulian of Pittsfield, who died Dec. 12, 2003, will be held Monday at 9:45 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Mary the Morning Star Church by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 9 to 9:45, prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mr. Eulian was predeceased by a brother, James Eulian.
