Barbara Earlene Weeks

Barbara Earlene Weeks, 73, of Galloway, N.J., formerly of Pittsfield, died Monday at home.

Born in Pittsfield, daughter of A. Ray and Sylvia Jenness Kimball, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1948. She also attended Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, and received her nursing degree in 1952 from Children's Hospital School of Nursing in Boston.

She also had resided in Hudson, N.Y., Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Washington, D.C., area before moving to New Jersey in the early 1970s.

Mrs. Weeks was employed as a registered nurse at a number of hospitals and health centers, including Walter Reed in Washington, and most recently at Children's Seashore House, Ocean Point Nursing Home and Atlantic City Medical Center, all in New Jersey.

She enjoyed music and spent summers in Lenox so she could attend concerts at Tanglewood.

When she was young, she had played with a local symphony.

She and her husband, Dr. James Weeks, formerly of Pittsfield, were married June 7, 1952, in First Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves five sons, David Weeks of Seaville, N.J., Mark Weeks of Ocean City, N.J., Jeffrey Weeks of Galloway, Bryan Weeks of Absecon, N.J., and Christopher Weeks of Rehobeth Beach, Del., and seven grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Barbara E. Kimball Weeks will be Friday, Dec. 12, at noon at Beacon Evangelical Free Church, 420 South 6th Ave., Galloway Township, N.J. Calling hours will be Thursday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 8 and Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 at WIMBERG FUNERAL HOME, 211 East Great Creek Road, Galloway.

Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.

Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Sharon, Jean, Wendy and Lauri Weeks; seven grandchildren, Justin, Kevin, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Jack, Molly and Thomas, and her nieces Amy Austin of Louisville, Colo., and Karen Wilhoite of Alameda, Calif.
