Carmello J. "Carmen" Colombari, 78, of 65 Columbus Ave. died Friday at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born in Lee on Nov. 21, 1925, son of Peter and Congetta Borsellino Colombari, he attended schools there.
He moved to Pittsfield in 1952.
Mr. Colombari was employed by the former Sheaffer-Eaton Textron Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Sons of Italy Itam Lodge 564, the Senior Center and the United Commercial Travelers of Pittsfield.
He enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for family and friends.
He leaves his longtime companion, Constance A. Rivers, and two sisters, Mary C. Faivre of Housatonic and Congetta M. Kirchner of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Carmello J. "Carmen" Colombari will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 8:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Holy Family Church.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Spring Street, Lee. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 3 to 7 at the funeral home. Survivors include his longtime friend and companion, Constance A. Rivers of Pittsfield, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Grace Colombari and Madeline Colombari, and by two brothers, Peter C. Colombari and Joseph A. Colombari.
