Romeo R. Rupinski, 78, of 127 Wahconah St. died Tuesday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided since Nov. 7.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 7, 1925, son of Peter and Helen Gramkowski Rupinski, he was a Pittsfield High School graduate.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Rupinski was a brakeman and conductor with the former Boston and Albany Railroad, later known as ConRail, for 40 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a life member of VFW Post 448 and a member of the Polish Falcons and Polish Community Club.
He leaves three daughters, Helen "Cindy" Bodnar of Pittsfield; Margaret A. Dodge of Cheshire and Maureen A. Neff of Dalton; a brother, Thaddeus Rupinski of Pittsfield; three sisters, Helen Daly of Pittsfield, Blanche Milukas of the state of Florida, and Evelyn Galant of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Romeo R. Rupinski, who died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, was predeceased by two sisters, Amelia D'Agostino Gorka and Jennie Chiodo. Funeral services for Mr. Rupinski were private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association, the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, or the Polish Falcons Scholarship Fund in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
