Anna M. Boucher Bassett, 84, of Sugar Hill died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in Pittsfield on May 6, 1919, daughter of Fred and Mary Genatte Zullo, she attended schools in Pittsfield and Northampton and was a graduate of the Clark School for the Deaf in Northampton.
She moved to Westfield in 1967 and to Sugar Hill in June.
Mrs. Bassett was employed by the former Eaton Paper Co. in Pittsfield for many years as a box maker, and later at Strathmore Paper Co. in Westfield.
She was a member of Pioneer Valley Baptist Church in Westfield, the Springfield Deaf Club and the Springfield Senior Club.
She enjoyed traveling, sewing and crocheting.
Her first husband, Henry Boucher, died in 1966.
Her husband, John Bassett, is deceased.
She leaves two sons, William H. Boucher of Dalton and Stephen P. Boucher of Springfield; two brothers, Herbert Zullo and John Zullo, both of Pittsfield; two sisters, Lena Scapin and Mary Duzlak, both of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, and a great-grandson. A daughter, Marie Boucher, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Anna M. Boucher Bassett, 84, a longtime resident of Westfield who died Nov. 29, 2003, will be Wednesday at 10 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 Main St.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Deaf Club in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include three grandchildren, William, Nicole and Michelle Boucher, and her great-grandson, Jacob Gai. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
