Margaret "Mickie" Catherine Scott

Margaret "Mickie" Catherine Scott, 71, of 6B Pomeroy Manor died Monday at home.

Born in Pittsfield on April 22, 1932, daughter of Lewis J. and Mary Hart Burke, she was a graduate of the former Dalton High School.

Mrs. Scott was employed as an administrative assistant with B.M. Behrand Bank in Juneau, Alaska, for 10 years, retiring in 1983.

She also had worked as a waitress at local restaurants.

She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and a member of the Dalton American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed craft projects, especially crocheting, and playing bingo.

She leaves a son, Stanley E. Sakowski of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two daughters, Anne L. Wolf-Ferin of Hinsdale and Beverly J. Sakowski of Mechanicville, N.Y.; a brother, Thomas F. Burke of Dalton, and nine grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Margaret "Mickie" Catherine Scott, who died Nov. 17, 2003, will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 20, at 10 at St. Agnes' Church, Dalton, by a nephew, the Rev. Mark Burke. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dalton Ambulance and Rescue in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Scott also leaves her daughter-in-law, Carol Sakowski; her son-in-law, John Ferin; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Wolf, Tiffanie Wolf, Heather Westenzweig, Shannon Sakowski, Ashley Sakowski, Bethany Sakowski, Jason Ferin, Jeremy Ferin and Amber Ferin, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, George L. Burke, Donald W. Burke and Joseph J. Burke. She will be lovingly missed by her special friends, Casey, Pooh, Shadow, Noel and Penny. Her family was her life and everyone had something special that she made for them.
