David E. Oslund

David E. Oslund, 55, of 21 Revilla Terrace died Friday evening at home after a brief illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 22, 1947, son of Madeline Yon Oslund and the late Edward "Ted" Oslund, he was a 1966 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
An Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, he served two tours of duty as a staff sergeant, from 1966 to 1974.
Mr. Oslund had been employed as an emergency medical technician with American Medical Response. Previously, he owned and operated the local Duraclean franchise. He also had worked for GE and for Carrier Corp. in Syracuse, N.Y., and was a former police officer with the Spokane (Wash.) Police Department.
He enjoyed playing golf and had been a vice president of the General Electric Athletic Association.
A loving dog owner, he was a regular hiker in Kennedy Park.
He and his wife, the former Julia Cronin, were married July 13, 1979.
Besides his wife and mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves two sons, James E. Oslund of Spokane and Anthony Oslund of Hayden Lake, Idaho; a sister, Patti Oslund of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- David E. Oslund, 55, died Nov. 14, 2003. He is also survived by his niece, Jennifer Cahill, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his beloved golden retrievers, Molly, Moe and Buddy.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 at the Church on the Hill in Lenox, with the Rev. Natalie Shiraz, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue "Look Beyond Time" fund or to the David Oslund Memorial EMT Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
