Francesca "Nina" Asci, 84, formerly of 48 Edison Ave., died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
She had resided at Melbourne Place for three years.
Born in Filadelphia, province of Catanzaro, Italy, on March 2, 1919, daughter of Antonino and Barbara Giordano Serraino, she attended schools there.
She came to the United States and settled in Pittsfield in 1952.
Mrs. Asci was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of All Souls' Church and a member of its Ladies' Society.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.
Her husband, Alfred "Freddie" Asci, whom she married Sept. 7, 1953, died June 21, 1996.
She leaves a daughter, Antonina Larkin of Atlanta; two sisters, Rena Gariano and Laura Santise, both of Catanzaro, Italy, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Francesca "Nina" Asci, who died Nov. 14, 2003, will be Wednesday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at All Souls' Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Tuesday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elder Services in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Asci is also survived by her nephew, Giovanni Rondinelli; two nieces, Maria Rondinelli and Elisabetta Hary; two grandchildren, T.J. Larkin and Elizabeth Larkin. She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Carmelo Serraino, both of Italy.
