James Anthony Golin

James Anthony Golin, 69, of 27 Hillcrest Ave. died Sunday at home.

Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 3, 1934, son of Giacomo and Giuditta Zanpieri Golin, he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1951.

He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958.

Mr. Golin was employed part time by Lipton Energy Co. and at Extreme Motor Sports, owned by his son, Robert C. Golin of Pittsfield.

He also had been employed by several automobile dealerships as a mechanic and, before that, owned and operated Linden Service Center until 1982.

He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church.

He enjoyed going to the Hinsdale (N.H.) Race Trackand and feeding the birds.

Besides his son, with whom he resided, he leaves two other sons, Douglas A. Golin of Lanesboro and Thomas J. Golin of Pittsfield; a sister, Emily Sangiovanni of West Suffield, Conn., and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for James Anthony Golin will take place Thursday, Nov. 6, at 9 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be Friday in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested to the Lanesboro School Fund through the funeral home. Survivors include two grandchildren, Charlie Russell and Dominick Golin. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gino Golin on May 25, 1979, and John C. Golin on Sept. 30, 1997.
