Sylvia Hobson Stokes

Sylvia Hobson Stokes, 59, of Delafield Drive died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield following a brief illness.
Born in Providence, R.I., on May 6, 1944, daughter of W.E.D. and Lucia Houston Hobson Stokes, she was a 1958 graduate of Berkshire Country Day School and a 1962 graduate of the former Fox Hollow School. She earned a bachelor of arts degree at Mount Holyoke College in 1966 and a master of arts in education from Hunter College in 1970.
Since 1987, Miss Stokes had been employed as a sales associate at the L'Eggs-Hanes-Bali-Playtex Factory Outlet, formerly at the Lenox Shops and then at the Prime Outlets in Lee.
She was fond of animals.
She leaves a brother, Dr. Houston Hobson Stokes of Chicago.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Sylvia Hobson Stokes, who died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, will be tomorrow, Oct. 28, from 5 to 7 at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St.
Burial will be Wednesday in Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include Miss Stokes' sister-in-law, Diana A. Stokes, and her two nephews, William A. Stokes and Houston A. Stokes.
