Sandra L. Laine, 63, of 40 Franklin St. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield of diabetes.
Born in Adams on Jan. 28, 1940, daughter of Clara R. Rice Crossin of Dalton and the late Edward G. Crossin, she was a 1957 graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School. She also attended Rippon (Wis.) College and graduated with honors from the Carnegie Institute of Medical Technology in Boston.
She moved to Dalton in 1985.
Mrs. Laine was employed as a social worker with the handicapped. She also had worked as a medical technologist at Brattleboro (Vt.) Hospital and in Burnell, Fla.
She was a member of First Congregational Church in Adams, and enjoyed animals and playing the piano.
Besides her mother, with whom she resided, she leaves a stepdaughter, Ann Kenyon, and a stepson, John H. Laine, both of Union, S.C.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Sandra L. Laine, who died Oct. 20, 2003, will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 23, at 1 at BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Robert R. Kyte.
Calling hours will be from noon to 1 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Mrs. Laine was predeceased by a brother, Donald E. Crossin. She would always help out people before she would help herself.
