Francis M. Cichy

Francis M. Cichy, 66, of Auburn, a native of Pittsfield, died Thursday at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.
Born on Nov. 12, 1936, son of Frank and Lillian Borkowski Cichy, he moved to Worcester as a child and attended schools there.
Mr. Cichy was employed by Wyman-Gordon Co. in Worcester for 46 years, retiring in 1999. He was a founder and first president of Wyman-Gordon Credit Union, serving 13 years.
He also held leadership positions in Local 2285 and worked for many years supporting the United Way of Central Massachusetts.
He was a communicant and a founder of St. Mark's Church in Sutton and a former member of the Knights of Columbus in South Grafton.
He enjoyed fly-fishing.
His first wife, the former Mary Kasheta, died in 1955.
He leaves his former wife, Gloria A. Sinkavich Cichy of Sutton; four daughters, Susan M. Donahue of Belchertown, Julia Cichy-Natoli of Webster, Paula J. Panaccione of Old Saybrook, Conn., and Linda F. Shaffer of Southboro; two sons, Francis J. Cichy of Hagerstown, Md., and Martin E. Cichy of Webster, and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Francis M. Cichy will be Monday, Oct. 20, from MULHANE HOME FOR FUNERALS, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 356 Boston Road, Sutton.
Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester, following the funeral. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Oct. 19, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to a charity of one's choice.
He also leaves two aunts, Constance Rivers and Stella Spence, both of Pittsfield, and several cousins. (www.mulhane.com)
