Eva M. Tremblay

Eva M. Tremblay, 97, of 170 Stearns Ave. died Sunday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since January.
Born in Pittsfield on March 9, 1906, daughter of Willard W. and Rose Plant Jenne, she attended Pittsfield schools.
She was a waitress at the former Carnute's Diner in Pittsfield for many years. Prior to that she worked in the former Eaton-Crane Paper Co., and when the company split, she moved to the division that went to Dalton.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and was a volunteer between St. Mark's and the former St. John's Church on Lebanon Avenue.
She was an associate member of the Vietnam Veterans and used to knit bandages for the lepers in South Africa.
She was a volunteer for the Marian Fathers and enjoyed puzzles.
Her husband, Arthur A. Tremblay, whom she married on Feb. 22, 1946, died Jan. 10, 1985.
She leaves two sons, Francis A. Temblay of Lanesboro and Theodore "Ted" Underhill Jr. of Pitts-field; one sister, Arlene Rapkowicz of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Eva M. Tremblay, 97, who died Sunday, will be held on Friday at 10:15 from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mark's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Henry L. Dorsch, pastor. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vietnam Veterans Chapter 65 in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Mrs. Tremblay was predeceased by five sisters, Lillian Brown, Louise Grandbois, Lena Goggia, Anna Mae Rufo and Dorothy Rocheleau.
