Esther M. Fresia, 90, of 106 Morningview Drive died Sunday morning at home.
Born in Pittsfield on May 12, 1913, daughter of Louis and Anna Vogliazzo Fresia, she was educated in local schools.
She also attended the former Berkshire Business College.
She was employed as a winder in the small distributor transformer department at GE, retiring in 1975 after 35 years of service.
A communicant of Mount Carmel Church, she was a member of its Ladies Guild and, for over 40 years, was very active in various church functions, especially its bazaar and lawn party.
She was also a member of the Pittsfield Seniors Club and the Lenox Seniors.
She leaves three nephews and a niece.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Esther M. Fresia, age 90, died Oct. 12, 2003. She is survived by her nephews, Richard and Robert Monteleone of Pittsfield, Paul Fresia of Clearwater, Fla., and a niece, Lois Lutz of Pittsfield Township, Mich.; her sister-in-law, Marion Fresia, and 18 great nieces and nephews, and several great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Victor Fresia, and a sister, Josephine Monteleone.
The family would like to thank all her caregivers and HospiceCare in the Berkshires. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Mount Carmel Memorial Fund or HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
