William C. Moffatt

William C. Moffatt, 44, of Agawam, a native of Pittsfield, died in Agawam on Thursday.

Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 26, 1958, son of Carl R. and Lois M. Eastman Moffatt, he was a 1976 graduate of Taconic High School and attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Mr. Moffatt had been employed by Olympic Manufacturing Group in Agawam since 1995. He was national sales manager of building systems products and was on the executive committee of the Log Home Council.

He received the 2002 Salesman of the Year for Building Products award.

He was a member of the Structural Insulated Panel Association and the O'Brien's Corner hockey team.

He was planning to be a registered U.S. Ice Hockey official this fall.

He and his wife, the former Denise A. Gogan, were married June 9, 1984.

Besides his wife and parents, of Pittsfield, he leaves a son, Andy Moffatt and a daughter, Heather Moffatt, both at home, and a brother, Thomas A. Moffatt of Framingham.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for William "Bill" C. Moffatt will be Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 11 at Agawam Congregational Church, 745 Main St. Burial will follow in Agawam Center Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday, Sept. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at COLONIAL-FORASTIERE FUNERAL HOME, 985 Main St., Agawam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heather and Andy Moffatt Scholarship Fund in care of Woronoco Savings Bank, P.O. Box 266, Feeding Hills, MA 01030.

Survivors include his father-in-law, Walter Gogan of Pittsfield; sister-in-law, Joanne Abate of Framingham; nephew, Will Moffatt; nieces, Hannah and Emma Moffatt, and his cats, Spooky and Pumpkin. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Gogan. He leaves his loving and devoted wife, Denise, and loving and cherished children, Andy and Heather.
