Jane E. Chapman

Jane E. Chapman, 56, of 16 Lathers Ave. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center after suffering a heart attack at home.

Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 9, 1946, daughter of the late Harry S. Chapman and Phyllis I. Dallmeyer Chapman, Miss Chapman was a 1964 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

She was employed as a financial coordinator at Berkshire Medical Center for 30 years. She was a former Rainbow Girl, grand cross of colors, of the Order of Eastern Star of North Adams and a member of the organization's Naomi chapter.

She had served as president of the Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade Committee, and was a member of the BMC recreation and Follies committees.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and of the Women in Travel in Albany, N.Y., with Judi's Travel of Lebanon, N.Y.

Her hobby was traveling extensively throughout the world, and she had visited several cousins in Europe. Her last trip was in August to Newfoundland.

She leaves her mother, of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jane E. Chapman will be conducted Tuesday at 11 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Carl Cahrs Towley, chaplain of Berkshire Medical Center.

Burial will follow in Mountainview Cemetery in Lenox. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Salvation Army, the Fourth of July Parade Fund or the Make-A-Wish Foundation at BMC, in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
