Dominick J. Strizzi, 85

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Dominick J. Strizzi, 85, of 60 Donna Ave. died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 31, 1918, son of Dominick Strizzi and Margaret Fornengo Strizzi White, he attended Pittsfield schools and St. Joseph's High School, where he was a member of the baseball and football teams.
He also played semipro baseball and football in Springfield.
Mr. Strizzi was employed by GE in the power transformer division for 42 years, retiring as a dispatcher in 1980. He also owned the Holiday Deluxe Motel in Lenox from 1967 to 1970.
He was a communicant of All Souls' Church, a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center, and a past worthy president of the Pittsfield Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He enjoyed bowling and golf and was a longtime New York Yankees fan.
He and his wife, the former Marguerite L. Wendell, were married March 30, 1940.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Dennis G. Strizzi of Hancock; a daughter, Susan Spiewak of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Brian, Karen and Christopher Spiewak, and Shelley, Dennis D. and Michael Strizzi, and by three great-grandchildren, Katie and Joshua Bradley and Grace Spiewak.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Strizzi will be Monday, Sept. 29,at 9 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at All Souls' Church, 51 Pembroke Ave., celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, Sept. 28, from 4 to 7. Burial will follow in the family plot at Pittsfield Cemetery.
