Mercedes Nash

Mercedes Nash, 80, of 203 Melbourne Road died Wednesday at Hillcrest Commons.

Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 14, 1922, daughter of William Bullett Sr. and Anna LaBeau Bullett, she attended local schools.

Mrs. Nash was employed by Fairview Hospital as a data entry clerk. She formerly worked at Blantyre Castle, and was a dental hygienist many years ago, a waitress, manager and bartender at the former Ida and John's restaurant, and the maitre d' at the former Edgewood Restaurant.
She was a member of Immanuel Community Church and a member of its Ladies' Guild.

A skilled quilter, she gave quilting lessons and volunteered at Hancock Shaker Village.

In her younger years, she and her sister sang on radio programs.

Her husband, Roy F. Nash Jr., whom she married July 5, 1948, died May 26, 1980.

She leaves a daughter, Nancy Nash Tempkin of Berkeley, Calif.; two sons, Stephen Nash and Mark Nash, both of Denver; a brother, William Bullett Jr. of Richmond; a sister, Amy Richel of Davie, Fla., and two granddaughters.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mercedes Nash will be conducted Saturday at 2 at Immanuel Community Church by the Rev. Angela Bachauer, pastor. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.

Calling hours will be tomorrow, Sept. 27, from 11 to 1 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Among survivors are her granddaughters, Estrella Nash Tempkin and Rebecca Nash Tempkin. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Immanuel Community Church in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
