Yolanda Dusio, 101, of Maple Road, Quaker Hill, Waterford, Conn., died Sunday at home.
She was a former resident of Pittsfield.
Born in Isola d'Asti, Italy, on Aug. 12, 1902, daughter of Guiseppe and Marguerite Icardi, she emigrated to the United States in 1905, settling in Pittsfield. She attended local schools.
She moved to Uncasville, Conn., in 1958.
Mrs. Dusio was employed by GE from 1943 to 1958. While there, she met former President Ronald Reagan.
While in Uncasville, Mrs. Dusio was a communicant of St. John's Church and a member of the Montville Senior Center. For six years, she was chairwoman of an organization that made puppets for children at Backus Hospital in Norwich.
She enjoyed needlework, especially crocheting and creating original designs. She made many transatlantic trips to Italy and toured France.
Her husband, Peter L. Dusio, whom she married June 28, 1924, at Mount Carmel Church, died May 1, 1991.
She leaves a daughter, Eileen Button of Quaker Hill; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Yolanda Icardi Dusio will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 at Our Lady of Perpetual Care, 63 Old Norwich Road, Quaker Hill, Conn. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until the time of the service at Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, Route 32, in Montville. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Montville.
She leaves two grandsons, Alton P. Button Jr. of West Brookfield and Peter L. Button Sr. of Canterbury, Conn.; a granddaughter, Brenda Button of Canterbury; and four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ann Button and Zachary P. Button, both of West Brookfield, Mass., and Peter L. Button Jr. and Aaron R. Button, both of Canterbury. She was predeceased by her brother, Julio Icardi.
