Thomas J. Schnopp, 58, of 487 Guinea Road, Charlotte, Vt., formerly of Hinsdale, died Thursday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 1, 1944, son of the late Harry and Evelyn Dupont Schnopp, he was a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served from 1965 to 1971.
Mr. Schnopp was employed for several years by GE in Burlington, Vt., and by Harbor Industries in Shelburne, Vt.
He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church in Charlotte.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He and his wife, the former Helen M. Cullett, were married 35 years.
Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, Daniel Schnopp of Hinsdale, and two sisters, Marjorie Koulgeorge and Patricia Newton, both of Springfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Thomas J. Schnopp on Monday, Sept. 22, at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Charlotte.
Burial will follow in Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph Center, with full military honors. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Sept. 21, from 5 to 8 at SHELBURNE FUNERAL CHAPEL OF CORBIN AND PALMER FUNERAL HOMES, 209 Falls Road, Shelburne, Vt. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice of the Champlain Valley, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446. Mr. Schnopp is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
