Spiros Koudas

Spiros Koudas, 67, of 27 Lyric St. died Tuesday afternoon at home.
Born in Corfu, Greece, on Sept. 14, 1936, son of Nicholas and Catarina Koudas, he was a graduate of schools there. He also graduated from a four-year college in Greece.
He served in the Greek navy and merchant marines.
A machinist, Mr. Koudas was employed by Lipton Industries and Mass Machinery, and had worked in the autoclave industry. He also had worked as an electrician for Kinnas Electric and Paul Guillou Electric.
He was a member of the St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church.
He enjoyed bicycle riding and the ocean.
His wife, the former Stamatia Blanos, died Feb. 16, 1984.
He leaves a daughter, Patty Koudas of Pittsfield; a brother, John Koudas of Greece, and a sister, Christina Koudas of Greece. He also leaves his fiancée of 18 years, Ann Gorton of Pittsfield. A son, Nicholas E. Koudas, died March 2, 1993.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Spiros Koudas, who died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, will be Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by services conducted at 10 at St. George the Tropaiophoros Greek Orthodox Church by the Rev. John Kostas, presbyter.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Koudas also leaves his fiancée’s son, Chad Gorton of Lanesboro; several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and -nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
