Margaret M. Boyer, 84, died yesterday morning at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since June.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 12, 1919, daughter of Edmond and Mary Guiltinan Bouchane, she was a 1937 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She resided at 24 Congress St. for many years, then at Providence Court.
Mrs. Boyer was employed at Berkshire Medical Center, retiring in 1983. She also had worked as a unit secretary in the emergency room at the former St. Luke’s Hospital until it closed.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She and her husband, Robert E. Boyer Sr., helped form the Pittsfield South Little League; she was one of its first scorekeepers.
She enjoyed drawing.
Her husband, whom she married in June 1941, died Feb. 1, 1984.
She leaves two sons, Robert E. Boyer Jr. of Crown Point, Ind., and Richard C. “RC†Boyer of Pittsfield; a brother, Warren Bouchane of Tonowanda, N.Y.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Margaret B. Boyer, age 84, died Sept. 17, 2003. There will be no calling hours. The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Springside of Pittsfield Patients Activity Fund in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
