Viola J. Knappe DeSebastiano, 86, formerly of Southwick, died Monday at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Agawam.
She also had lived in Pittsfield from 1938 until 1977.
Born on Jan. 23, 1917, in Stafford Springs, Conn., daughter of the Carl and Mary Fouli Campo, she graduated from the former Hillcrest Hospital School of Nursing in 1940.
She was a licensed practical nurse at the former Hillcrest Hospital until her retirement in 1977.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick.
Her first husband, John L. Knappe, died in 1975.
Her husband, Nicholas DeSebastiano, died in 2002.
She leaves her daughter, Sister Sharon Knappe of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Holyoke, and a sister, Sylvia Welch of Southwick.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Viola J. Knappe DeSebastiano will be Friday at 9 from the FIRTION-ADAMS FUNERAL HOME, 76 Broad St., Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick at 10.
Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Pittsfield at 2:30. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Church, 224 Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick, MA 01077, or to the Sisters of St. Joseph at Mont Marie, 34 Lower Westfield Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
