Wendy F. Bilia

Wendy F. Bilia, 28, died Friday at 97 John St., the home of her mother, Maureen Prendergast Jakacky, with whom she had resided.

Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 28, 1974, also the daughter of Wayne Jakacky, she was a 1992 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.

Mrs. Bilia had been employed by various delicatessens in the area, including Stop & Shop’s in Pittsfield. She also had worked at Berkshire Flower Co.

She was a member of St. Agnes’ Church and a volunteer at Morningside Community School in Pittsfield.

She enjoyed flowers, crafts, music and animals.

She and her husband, Stephen Bilia, were married June 11, 1997.

Besides her husband and father, both of Pittsfield, and her mother, she leaves a daughter, Sophia Bilia, at home; a son, Marcus Bilia, at home; three sisters, Dawn Jakacky of Pittsfield, and Jamie Jakacky and Elisabeth Jakacky, both of Dalton; a brother, Matthew Jakacky of Dalton, and her maternal grandfather, John Prendergast of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Wendy F. Bilia, 28, who died Sept. 12, 2003, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Agnes’ Church by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hebert Arboretum in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Wendy also is survived by three nephews, Tyrin, Mateo and Mikey, and by her niece, Laurin.
